PlacementWorks is a non-profit job placement organization for individuals with disabilities. A unique agency working for the greater good in our community, PlacementWorks’ philosophy is “there is a job for everyone”.
Christy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Vocational Evaluator and the President and Founder of PlacementWorks. Christy founded PlacementWorks in 2000 while working as a Vocational Evaluator and Licensed Mental Health Counselor for Vocational Rehabilitation. Christy’s philosophy of “there is a job for everyone” was established while finding employment for individuals with mental health diagnoses. Her experience taught her the strong connection and relationship between improved employment and improved mental health. Christy is a passionate advocate for individuals with disabilities and can proudly state that PlacementWorks achieved a 92% successful outcome rate for their clients this past year, a testament to the great staff she has assembled and to her leadership!
PlacementWorks was very pleased to welcome Mona Andrews to their team of professionals in the beginning of 2013! Mrs. Andrews has extensive experience as a specialist in coaching and sales. Mona has worked with speakers from all over the world, including persons who have physical, emotional and/or behavioral challenges. Her foremost passion is assisting and inspiring others to achieve the best results possible in all aspects of life, but especially in meaningful employment. Mona brings over 25 years of knowledge, enthusiasm and experience to our PlacementWorks team!
Steve Brown is a Master Electrician with extensive experience in assisting individuals entering the work world. In 1994, he was contracted through the Department of Education, Career Opportunity Center. He provided community-based work experience and community-based work evaluations for students seeking employment opportunities in the construction trade industry. In 2004, Steve began working with PlacementWorks, where he developed community-based work sites for individuals with disabilities to participate in realistic and simulated onsite work evaluations with actual employers. In 2006, Steve not only began providing all phases of job coaching services, but as a certified CPR instructor, he provided training and certification for those applicable consumers to facilitate and enhance their potential to secure employment. Along with Steve’s expertise, is his desire to assist individuals with disabilities to become successfully employed by focusing on their capabilities. Steve is a definite asset to PlacementWorks and to the individuals we serve!
Carrie Dunn is the Office Manager for PlacementWorks and has been employed with PlacementWorks since 2008. Carrie retired after 35 years with the State of Florida where 30 years of her employment was with Vocational Rehabilitation. Carrie’s experience with the State gives her a wealth of knowledge from both a practical and administrative standpoint. Another interesting and important fact about Carrie is that she is the granddaughter of the notorious Louise Graham of The Louise Graham Training Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Carrie’s heritage provides her with the strong perspective of seeing the capabilities of individuals with disabilities!
Francisco “Paco” Fajardo joined the PlacementWorks’ family in April 2013. During this year, Paco has contributed to the PlacementWorks’ mission by job coaching and providing support services to the individuals we serve to facilitate their not only becoming, but maintaining successful employment. Paco is also instrumental in our sharing some of our success stories to the community utilizing his technological knowledge and expertise. After one year, Paco is a natural with providing the services necessary to help our consumers succeed.
Paco has a Master’s Degree in Journalism. And, while completing his studies, he worked for a sports news agency and also has experience working with a radio station, as an on-air personality.
Krista Partsch is the newest member of the PlacementWorks’ Family, having started in January 2014. Krista is fast becoming our resident expert with assisting our consumers with developing resumes that would demand a second-like by potential employers. Not to mention her skills with completing and advising clients on government applications, such as the VA, which is no small feat.
Krista is no stranger to advocating on behalf of individuals needing specialized assistance. While having an Associate of Science degree in law, she was an advocate for abused women and children and worked with addicts overcoming addition. In addition, Krista is a certified stenographer and knows sign language. As you can see, she has multiple skills and qualities to assist individuals with disabilities.
Creating an increased sense of self-esteem as they enter the workforce and become positive contributing members of our wonderful community.
